Channelers and Aiel frighten him almost death, he doesn't show much but its noticable.
History: Zahrus was born in Cairhien, and handed down to his uncle after his father was killed by an Aiel after his father attempted to kill him first, his mother committed suicide due to grief, leaving him on his own at the age of 15. Zahrus despised Aiel above all else, but never shows it, but still he would kill an Aiel if he saw one. Zahrus has an extremely good memory, which allowed him to learn things and memorize them very quickly. Zahrus keeps a small hand book and quill in his cloak to write down the new things that he learns, then study them later and find there meaning. Zahrus was sent to his last living relative, a Cairhien general, General Halbdur, after he had run into him in the street......
Zahrus was busy reading The Adventures of Jain Farstrider when he ran into, what felt like a wall."Watch where your going kid!" The man yelled. Zahrus took a good look at the man, he towered him by far, and was of a high build. Uncle Halbdur. " Zahrus? Is it you?" He smiled,"It is you, how are ya ma boy?"
"Fine" Zahrus said in a voice as if he hated being there.
"This be my nephew" He started," I'll be taking care of him for now on" He was a tall, broad shouldered man with a face as hard as stone, with dark eyes and dark hair. Halbdur then lead the way back to his house. "You'll love it" He began.
Zahrus wasn't to excited but he spent the first couple of nights reading. Until his uncle went looking for him, and woke him from his nap.
"Zahrus ma boy!" He called up, Zahrus was in a deep sleep, with his book over his face. He hadn't heard any of his uncles calls until he felt a rock hit his side.
With a grunt and a yawn he said "Good morning, uncle!" He returned the yell.
"Come down here, we need to speak!" Zahrus leaped down from the branch and landed infront of his uncle with a tumble. Without Zahrus to get a word in," Come! Follow me!" He ordered. Without a reply Halbdur lead the way to the training courtyard. The training yard? I'm not going to like this ,he thought sadly. As they walked Halbdur spoke, " You have a very strong mind, but, in order to survive in this world you must have more than just a mind. I think its time you learned how to use a weapon" They entered the training yard, and along the side of the wall was about a dozen weapons."Chose your weapon, and chose carefully, this will be the weapon you'll be training with for years to come" Zahrus slowly made his way over to the wall of weapons and looked them over repeditly, and chose, the long pike. "Good choice, but," Halbdur took the weapon from his hand, then put a wooden replacement. Zahrus raised an eyebrow."Your training starts now" He said, quickly lunging forward....
From that moment on, his days were filled with training. Hand-to hand combat one day, pike the next. Zahrus became accustomed to training non-stop for a period of time, so he kept his hand book and quill, along with The Adventures of Jain Farstrider in his cloak at all times, occasionally getting a day off to read and or lounge around. For six years he continued his schedule, but as he got older and better with the pike, he got back on to his usual ways of, being lazy. At the age of 21 his uncle met with him one last time....
"I've taught you everything I know ma boy! I think its time you headed down your own path" Halbdur smiled,"Got any ideas?"
Zahrus looked at his feet,"Tar Valon" He said smoothly. Halbdur smiled again.
"So be it, lad. Guess you should start your way there then?" Zahrus nodded with a smile.
"Thank you uncle," Zahrus said as he walked away.
Halbdur smiled once again. "He may do great things"
